Primary Responsibilities

I am responsible for the Granite wholesale business that distributes non-standard personal and small commercial products to its brokers. This is a £100M business that distributes to 200 plus brokers, specialising in unique solutions for those more difficult to place risks. I also have responsibility for Acorn’s Direct Home Insurance business and sit on the Acorn Group’s Executive team.

Employment History

I joined Granite in 2024 having spent the past 5 years as CEO of Beagle Street, a rapidly growing, digitally and data focussed Life Insurance business disturbing direct to consumers, via price comparison sites and more recently via brokers. Prior to this I was Commercial Director of the AA’s Consumer Breakdown business, having spent a large part of my early career at Tesco. For the last 10 years, I have been part of senior leadership teams that have had responsibility for both Motor & Home insurance businesses (at BGL Insurance, now part of Markerstudy, and at the AA).

What Granite Underwriting means to you & your ambitions for the company

I am excited to have joined Granite Underwriting at a time when the business is currently expanding its distribution strongly. I see significant further potential and am looking forward to further developing our products, pricing, underwriting and digital technology to offer the best possible solutions for our brokers and their customers.

Biggest milestone over the next 12 months

We plan to invest significantly in the business over the next 12 months to provide ever better solutions for our brokers, ensuring we further develop our position as a leader in the non-standard motor market.
